SAN, FRANCISCO, CA–(Marketwired – August 06, 2015) – 6sense today announced it has donated $87,000 to Girl Rising, a donation generated from the registration fees from its recent INmarket conference. Girl Rising is a global campaign for girl’s education.
Data shows that educating girls is the smartest investment of our time and the single greatest solution to solving key issues such as hunger, poverty, and infant and maternal mortality rates in developing nations. When girls are educated, communities thrive and economies grow. Yet 62 million girls are missing from classrooms worldwide, and tremendous opportunities are lost. Data shows that for every 10 percent increase of girls that are educated, the GDP of that country will increase 3 percent, making educating girls a measurable solution that changes lives and economies. The donation marks the latest effort from 6sense to use its technology, data, resources and time to make a positive impact and serve as a model for a new kind of Silicon Valley company.
“I believe that 6sense has a greater purpose beyond building a big data and predictive intelligence company. Data provides us the opportunity to build a big business, and data holds the key to solving real-world problems,” says 6sense CEO and founder, Amanda Kahlow. “We want to redefine success in business so that all companies compete to not only be the best in the world but also the best for the world. We are building a work environment that is passionate, positive, collaborative and empathetic with heart. We encourage ‘6sensors’ (our team) to focus on others before themselves both at work and in society as a whole.”
By creating a culture that focuses on growth for the company while making a positive impact on society, 6sense employees say they are reminded that the most important part of success IS people – employees and customers. 6sense has found that it is more able to attract diverse talent because the working environment is a place where employees feel supported, heard and respected. 40 percent of the company is comprised of women with 26 percent in engineering positions. 6sense employees hail from five different continents, and speak over 15 different languages.
“Building a distinct culture and set of values early is vital as companies look to drive high levels of employee recruitment, retention and customer success,” commented Erik Nierenberg, a long time advisor to 6sense. “I applaud the 6sense team for scaling the company at such a rapid rate, from every aspect, while paying close attention to developing a company culture that will inspire others to apply their time and resources in the same way.”
