There’s a very special birthday 6sense celebrates in April: Ours! This year, we’re celebrating our tenth year of empowering sales and marketing teams, and being a leader in revenue technology and revenue AI.

We’ve been busy for the past decade: We built an artificial intelligence-powered platform focused on the needs of B2B sellers, made it much easier for teams to focus on the best opportunities and achieve their goals, and so much more.

We’re always thinking and planning for the future, but just this once, let’s take a look at the past 10 years to see how we got here.

6sense Milestones

2013

6sense was founded with the vision of using predictive intelligence to transform revenue teams. A year later, we launched the world’s first B2B sales and marketing predictive intelligence platform.

2016

We debuted our Native Display Advertising capability, tuned specifically to the needs of B2B marketers. We were also granted a patent for a machine learning method to predict future sales, leads, and opportunities based on connecting buyer intent data (and other data) from one or multiple sources.

2018

With the acquisition of ZenIQ, 6sense’s platform gained the ability to power dynamic data enrichment, acquisition, and orchestration. Our Sales Intelligence capability also debuted this year.

2020

Our groundbreaking Next Best Actions capability goes public. We’re also named a Leader in the Forrester New Wave™: ABM Platforms category.

2021

We acquired Fortella and Slintel, and expanded into the EMEA and APAC markets. We were also cited as industry leaders by Gartner and G2, and recognized by Glassdoor for our employee happiness, perks and benefits, commitment to women and diversity, and more.

2022

We acquired Saleswhale, and — leveraging their years generative AI experience — released our AI-powered 6sense Conversational Email capability. We were also named a Leader in the 2022 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Account-Based Marketing Platforms for the second consecutive time.

2023

We released 6sense Revenue AI™  for Sales, a platform that gives sales reps unparalleled visibility into accounts and buying teams.

We’re only in April, and there’s much more to come this year!

10th Anniversary Q&A

As part of our 10th anniversary celebrations, we spoke with some employees who’ve been with us for the long haul. Let’s take a look at what it was like working for 6sense in the early days, and what these longtime employees think about the future of 6sense. The interviewees are:

Peter Shum
Peter Shum
Principal Solutions Architect
Zak Garner
Zak Garner
Sr. Strategic Account Manager
Yulia Tyutina
Yulia Tyutina
Sr. Principal Data Scientist
Prying Rathod
Priyang Rathod
Director of Engineering Integrations

6sense: How has your career evolved during your time at 6sense?

Yulia: I started as a data scientist, and I’m still a data scientist, but 6sense has evolved so much. At first, we had one client, and did all the models completely by hand. Now we have hundreds, and we have tools and automations and predictive models.

Zak: I was Director of Customer Success. It was an eye-opening and an exciting time. There was a big question about how are we going to help customers take advantage of 6sense and really drive business results out of it. So we were all figuring out how to drive customer success, and how to build our brand in the market. It was‌ scary, but it was fun. It was everything you think of an early stage VC-backed Bay Area startup to be like.

Priyang: I started as a software engineer, and I’m still kind of a software engineer. I spent the first year or so doing front-end coding one day, doing back-end another day. And then I started owning the CRM and MAP integrations as a team of one. Over time, the data kept growing and the team kept growing. And with that, my title also kept growing. That’s how I ended up where I am right now. But it’s been an awesome journey.

What three words would you use to describe your journey over the past three years?

Peter: Persistence, persevere, and people.

Zak: Ambitious, challenging, and family.

Yulia: Challenging, conquer, fascinating.

Priyang: I have four words: Never a dull moment!

When it comes to the future of 6sense, what are you most excited about?

Peter: Leadership. We’re all leaders in different ways. When I look at leadership, it’s not by title salary or your rank in an office. It’s taking the opportunity to challenge yourself. Making everyone better by making ourselves better and challenging ourselves is how I see that we’re going to evolve over the next year.

Zak: Getting to that next stage where any B2B company just inherently knows that 6sense and our type of product is absolutely mission-critical for their success.

Yulia: We are still working a lot on automation and scalability. I’m looking forward to doing more of that, and applying data science not just to models, but in other areas of our product as well.

Priyang: Scale and the evolution of the product. I remember the time when predictive was the whole product. Now it’s one part of the entire product suite and we’ve evolved so much over time. The data keeps doubling every year. How do we build systems that can handle that much load year over year and keep the machine churning? That’s what I look forward to.
